Pope John Paul II Speaks to Youth

Week Nine

My peace I give to you... (John 14:27)

"Dear young people, make your generous and responsible contribution to the constant building up of the Church as a family, a place of dialogue and mutual acceptance, a space of peace, mercy and pardon." --Pope John Paul II, World Youth Day XII

Think About That

The Holy Father believes in you. He believes that young people can make a big difference in the world and in the Church. He's asking you to make the Church--the community of people who believe in Jesus--a place where there is peace, mercy, and pardon. Are you up for the challenge?

Take Action

This coming Sunday when you are in Church, and it comes time to give the sign of peace, turn to at least five people around you that you don't know and offer them the sign of peace.

Say A Prayer

Lord, help me to be a person who is a peacemaker, someone who shows mercy toward others, and someone who forgives others when they hurt me.

Did You Know?

Pope John Paul II has traveled around the world to visit his people more than any pope in history. He has traveled more than a half-million miles since becoming pope.
