Pope John Paul II Speaks to Youth

Week Forty-Seven

If the Lord wishes... (James 4:15)

"The Lord will help you to know his will; he will help you to follow your vocation courageously." --Pope John Paul II, St. Louis, Missouri

Think About That

God wills something wonderful for each of us. We each have a special vocation to follow in life. Some of us will be called to be witnesses of Christ through marriage, some through single life, some through vowed religious life, and some through ordained priesthood. Each vocation requires courage to follow its path.

Take Action

This week, find someone who has followed each of these four vocations (married life, single life, vowed religious life, ordained priesthood) and talk with each one about their life. Ask them about the courage it takes to follow their vocation. Ask them how the Lord helped them to know his will.

Say A Prayer

Lord, grant me the courage to follow whatever vocation I am called to in my life. Whatever my vocation might be, help me to always give witness to your will. Amen.
